We are thrilled to offer an engaging and enriching Summer 2025 Program at Sand Hill School!

Monday, June 9 – Thursday, July 3, 2025 (no camp June 19th)
Program Hours: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
A New School Experience for Students Entering Grades 2-8

Our summer session is designed for children who face challenges in reading, writing, spelling, or mathematics during the school year. At Sand Hill Summer, children with dyslexia, ADHD, language-based learning disabilities, or specific learning disabilities will experience success in a supportive, skill-building environment. Our program balances fun activities tailored to students' interests with evidence-based academic support.

What will the day look like?

Each day starts with a responsive Classroom Morning Meeting at 8:30 am, where we integrate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Executive Functioning (EF) skills into community-building activities. This sets the tone for a day of collaborative and interactive learning. Students will then rotate through small group, class-type activity periods, including:

  • Small Group Instruction: Focused on reading, writing, and math with a low student-teacher ratio.
  • Executive Functioning Skills: We teach skills such as routine building, material organization, planning, self-advocacy, and using accommodations.
  • Social Emotional Learning: Activities around teamwork, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and social skill development.
  • Summer Fun and Recreation: Engaging outdoor activities like science experiments, field games, nature walks, scavenger hunts, water fun, and more!

  • 8:15 am – 8:30 am – Arrival
  • 8:30 am – 8:55 am – Morning Meeting and Social Emotional Learning/Executive Functioning Activities
  • 9:00 am – 9:55 am – Reading
  • 9:55 am – 10:25 am – Break *
  • 10:30 am – 11:25 am – Math
  • 11:30 am – 12:00 pm – Specials
  • 12:00 pm – 12:15 pm – Lunch *
  • 12:15 pm – 12:30 – Dismissal and Free Play in the Courtyard

*Snacks and lunches should be provided from home.

Registration Process

  1. Attend Parent Visit – Sign up for a virtual visit to learn about the Sand Hill School Approach and the school and camp programs. Highly recommended for all families.
  2. Complete Program Application –  Our simple google form application is here.
  3. Email or mail any assessments/report cards/504/IEPs to summer@sandhillschool.org or Sand Hill Summer, 650 Clark Way, Palo Alto, Ca 94304
  4. Meet & Greet Call – After submitting your application, our team will reach out to schedule a 30-minute Meet & Greet visit. This visit is for students and a parent/guardian.
  5. Applications are due by May 20, 2025.
