We are excited to announce the Summer 2024 Program at Sand Hill School!

Morning Educational Program: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
A New School Experience

The summer session of Sand Hill School is designed to provide a new school experience for children who have completed grades 2-7 who have had a rocky school year due to struggles with reading, writing, spelling, and/or mathematics. At Sand Hill Summer kids with dyslexia, ADHD, language-based learning disability or specific learning disability experience success in a skill-building program that balances fun activities featuring students’ own interests and talents with evidence-based support in the areas of their academic challenges.

What will the day look like?

The day begins at 8:30 with a responsive Classroom Morning Meeting that integrate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Executive Functioning (EF) skills into community building activities. Our morning meetings foster a sense of community and belonging. After, students in small groups will rotate through three class-type activity periods, including:

  • Morning specialized small group instruction with low student/teacher ratio in reading, writing and math.
  • Lessons embedded with important teaching of Executive Function skills, such as routines, material organization, planning, self-advocacy and use of accommodations
  • Social Emotional Learning: Teamwork, mindfulness, regulation, and social skill development and practice
  • Summer Fun and Recreation: Science experiments, field games, nature walks, scavenger hunts, water fun and more!

  • 8:15 am – 8:30 am – Arrival
  • 8:30 am – 8:55 am – Morning Meeting and Social Emotional Learning/Executive Functioning
  • 9:00 am – 9:255 am – Reading
  • 9:55 am – 10:25 am – Break *
  • 10:30 am – 11:25 am – Math
  • 11:30 am – 12:00 pm – Specials
  • 12:00 pm – 12:15 pm – Lunch *
  • 12:15 pm – 12:30 – Dismissal and Free Play in the Courtyard

*Snack and Lunch should be provided from home.

Half Day Program | $2500

Registration Process

  1. Attend Parent Visit – Sign up for a virtual visit to learn about the Sand Hill School Approach and the school and camp programs. Highly recommended
  2. Complete Program Application –  Our simple google form application is here. Please also email /mail any assessments/report cards/504/IEPs to summer@sandhillschool.org.
  3. . Applications are due May 13, 2024.
  4. Meet & Greet Call – After you apply, Julia Rodriguez will reach out to schedule a 15-minute Meet & Greet call with you.
  5. See you on June 11th!
